Adding Your Business to the Network Texas Public Business Directory

NOTE: Network Texas has TWO (2) Directories the 1) Public Business Directory ( which we will discuss below) and the 2) Private Membership Directory (See “Adding Yourself to the Network Texas Private Membership Directory“). Two add a listing there are two qualifications:
- You need to be a Network Texas Member in good standings
- And you need to login to your Network Texas Membership Account on the website.

- After you login on the resulting My Account page, you will be on the Profile tab. Click on the Directories tab.
- On the Directories tab, you will see 2 boxes the Public Business Directory box and below it the Private Membership Directory.
In the Public Business Directory click the link Add New Directory Listing. - You will now be on the Business Directory Summary Page (as Show Below in Image 1) A) Type in your Business name and or Your Name and once you have found your listing B) Click the Search button.
Next, Your Listing will show up as a Summary (as shown in Image 2 below). Click the Image Title to be taken to your listing page.
- Once on your Business Directory Listing Page look to the right of the blue SEARCH button for a “gear” button and A) click the button to drop it down and a menu will be revealed. B) On the drop-down menu click Edit button.
- Add TITLE Field – After clicking the Edit Button you will be in the Edit your Director Page.
A – Make sure to use the name of the primary Network Texas Member on this listing.
B – Please separate the Business Name and the primary members name with the “|” vertical pipe (of course without the ” “). - Select Category drop-down – By clicking on this drop-down menu you can Categorize what best describes your business.
- Add Business Location – A) Type in your address you conduct business. If you do not have a formal office, you might just add the Town, Texas, and Zip for the closet area you serve. B) Once you have entered your Address, click the Find on map button and confirm location is correct. C) Sometimes Google Maps doesn’t have a correct area and you might need to add the Latitude and Longitude manually to show accurate location. - Adding Phone Number, Fax Number, Email Address, and Website URL (address).
Note: A) Phone number and C) Email address are required, but B) Fax Number and D) Website URL is optional.
Considerations: Phone number is going to be the phone number you want the general public to call you. If you want to leave a more private number for Members of Network Texas to call you, then do that in your Private Membership Directory. Same goes for your Email address. - Add Social Media Accounts – Not required but recommended. And make sure to use either the URL of your social media page or the username, the field will instruct you which is needed below.
- Add Image(s) to your Listing – Make sure the primary image you load is the one you want showing as the first image on your listing summary page. On your actual listing page, they will all show. A) Click the image you wish to use from the device your using. B) Once your image is loaded in the field showing your file name (like DSK00023.jpg) of the image go ahead and give it a relatable name that humans can understand. HINT: In a very short sentence (or few words as possible) describe the picture as you are describing it to a blind person. C) Deleting an Image, just check the checkbox if you want to delete it and then click SAVE CHANGES button at bottom of the page.
- Add Description of your Service and/or Product – Here is your 30 Second Commercial be descriptive and tell them what problem you solve and how it will help them.
From the little menu at top of the Editor you can click “Insert” and add additional images if you want, but limit it to no more than 2 as it will take away from your listing. But note, in this case, your images must be from someplace on the internet hosted by you, like images from your website as an example. - Add a YouTube or Vimeo video – If you add a video to your listing it will show with the slide show with all your images at the top of your listing page. The important thing here is you will NOT copy the FULL URL of the videos, but ONLY the image ID. See Image 2 for where to find it at YouTube and Image 3 where to find it at Vimeo.
A) From Drop Down select YouTube or Vimeo B) Enter ONLY Video ID (see image 1 and 2 below) C) To add addition Videos click the + Add More buttonWhere to find the Video ID at YouTube:
Go to the actual page of the video you want to add at YouTube and in the address window/bar copy the very end of the URL everything AFTER the equal “=” sign as shown below
Where to find the Video ID at Vimeo:
Go to the actual page of the video you want to add at Vimeo and in the address window/bar copy the very end of the URL. The Video ID will be all Numbers ONLY as shown below - Add Price Range and Opening Hours – These two are optional.
A) Price Range If you have a single product or series of products and/or services you can show a price range by moving the high end and lower end.B) Opening Hours you can show the hours for EACH day of the week and you leave on Not selected it will show you closed then. Like Sunday for instance. You might also use this for general times during the week you are available to your potential clients as well.
- Add Date Established and Tags –
A) Date Established is when you went into business, not required, but if you wish to let people know this could be a good tool to let them know you been around a while.
B) Tags help with searches and could give your listing some SEO (Search Engine Optimization) boost. It will not hurt you any. So while not required, recommended.
C) Save Changes Remember if you do not SAVE your changes it never happened. So all that work you did adding all your information to your listing make sure to save your changes!
- After you login on the resulting My Account page, you will be on the Profile tab. Click on the Directories tab.
